I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really happening.
